T I - G U A
TI - GUA is a community pavilion with a cave-inspired form. Located at Sentul Park, Sentul, 51100, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, TI - GUA aims to raise awareness of the society towards the local endangered species - the Malayan Tiger. With the client’s, WWF Malaysia’s objective to help promoting awareness for Malayan Tiger protection, the TI - GUA pavilion hosts several programmes such as tiger pledging, talks and seminars, and children story-telling competition. The pavilion is also the gathering point of the “Malayan Tiger Run” event.
CONCEPT
The form of the TI - GUA pavilion is inspired by the strong-willed characteristic of both tiger and WWF Malaysia. Tiger has strong willpower that striven them to survive although their habitat have been destroyed / affected, while WWF Malaysia is very determine to save and protect the endangered species. TI - GUA’s form is also inspired by the tiger’s shelter - cave, which in this case, portray about their living habitat that is being harmed and destroyed.
